Pros and cons of Dell Quick Resource Locator app for iPhone and iPad

Dell Quick Resource Locator app good for

Its OK. Videos are nice. UI needs work. Its good if you have a current system, but not old ones.
This is pretty cool and a solid start. Scanning my new servers QR Code brought up info for servicing. Scanning for the service tag wouldnt bring anything up. But manually entering the service tag brought up the hardware specs from original order and the warranty details. Id really like to be able to save a list of my servers in here as in the Dell Premier site. But a good start. Way to go Dell.
Always needed internet connection. But For those who had not work with Dell PowerEdge servers it is ease-of-use and useful application! P.S. just about new PowerEdge servers.

Some bad moments

I run an outfit with about 50 Dell workstations and servers, most less than 5 years old. This app has never scanned any of them.
I wanted this to work. I want to be able to enter service tags and get instant information. As all of the other reviewers state, you really have to drill into product lines down into a product to be able to get to Service tag entry. Then it got worse. I entered tags that I looked up on their web site hours ago. Said invalid tag. On the screen it says if it gives that very message on a valid tag just keep entering it until it comes up. After 6 times typing it I gave up. Im going to waste just a little more time, uninstalling it.
Dont bother. This thing is so old, and incomplete, it does nothing useful. Dell, please try again. Something that I can use to scan service tags and get quick information. How hard can that be?
If you have PowerEdge thats a recent model (18 months old or less), its not bad. That said, older generation models are NOT supported making this useless-especially when dealing with servers that can have a 5 year life cycle.
This app has potential. Its great for newer models but not for older ones (PE 2900, 2950 etc...). I hope they add support for older models and continue adding vids which are great refreshers. The service tag input is nice for warranty info and does work for older models.
My major feature request would be to quickly access this original as-shipped configuration of a system when given a Service Tag.
